Abstract
During the last months of 1993 the Oxford Archaeological Unit excavated the interior of St Nicholas Church, Sevenoaks, Kent, in advance of proposed developments by the Parochial Church Council. It is possible to trace the architectural developemnt of the church from its foundation, probably in the 11th century, through to the present day. Four hundered and twenty graves spanning a period of c. 800 years were recorded and excavated. A wide range of artefacts, including perhistoric flints, building materials, coffin furniture and textiles were recovered.
