Abstract
On the 26th and 27th of January 2004 Oxford Archaeology, (OA) carried out a field evaluation (at Ashton St Peters Lower School, Church Street, Dunstable, Bedfordshire (NGR TL 01862220) on behalf of Turley Associates Ltd. The evaluation produced evidence of a possible Roman pit
and a signifìcant period of activily from around the 1Ìth-l3fh century with the scale and shape of the excavated features indicating domestic land use and possible quarrying. These features have survived within the site despite a considerable period of later post-medieval activity.
