Abstract
Between the 9th and 25th of August 2006, Oxford Archaeology (OA) carried out an archaeological field evaluation of land at Gilden Way, Harlow, Essex (NGR TL 4815 1225) on behalf of CgMs Consulting. This phase of evaluation revealed areas of activity within the site relating to the Bronze Age/early Iron Age, Iron Age, early to late Romano-British and post-medieval periods. Evidence for Saxon activity is slight. All features revealed during the evaluation have been truncated by ploughing and are concentrated to the north and, north-east of the site. The archaeological evaluation generally confirms the results of the geophysical survey.
