Abstract
The desk-based assessment was carried out in June 2010 and comprised a search of both published and unpublished records held by the West Yoarkshire County Historic Environment Record, Wakefield, Kirklees Archives, Kirklees, Huddersfield, the Local Studies Collection at Kirklees library, Huddersfield and the archives and library held at OA North. In addition to this, the site was visited in order to provide a more thorough understanding of the study area, and assess the significance of the built heritage.
