Abstract
In April and May 2000 the Oxford Archaeological Unit (OAU) carried out a watching brief at a site between Itchen Wood and Shroner Wood, Winchester, Hampshire; the site is bisected by the M3 motorway. The work was carried out on behalf of Woods Warren Ltd., and revealed ditches and a post-hole of possible prehistoric date, and a Roman chalk quarry.
