Abstract

In September 2004 and February 2005 Oxford Archaeology (OA) carried out an archaeological watching brief at Jourdelays, Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire (NGR: SU 9658 7778). The work was commissioned by Eton College in advance of construction of an extension and courtyard to an existing building. The watching brief revealed heavy disturbance and truncation within the area, cause during 19th century construction of the Jourdelay building and its later services, overlying post-medieval cultivated and disturbed soils. No other significant archaeological features or deposits were observed during the watching brief.
