Abstract
Between the 18th and 21st of April 2017 Oxford Archaeology East carried out an archaeological trial trench evaluation on land to the north of Green Lane, Reydon, Suffolk (centred TM 498 779). A total of nine 30m trenches were excavated in an agricultural field. The evaluation revealed a series of primarily east-west aligned medieval ditches and a group of intercutting pits. The medieval archaeology was focused in the eastern half of the site, with a concentration of dated features in Trench 8. Pottery recovered from the intercutting pits and ditches suggests activity was centred upon the 13th and 14th century. The features identified on the site indicate use of the area for agriculture and possibly other peripheral activities on the fringes of medieval Green-edge settlement alongside Rissemere Lane East.
