Abstract
In October 2011 Oxford Archaeology undertook a watching brief during the construction of a new split level dwelling at Kiln Cottage, Pottery Lane, Inkpen, West Berkshire (NGR: SU 369 641). The watching brief observed two phases of post-medieval made ground over the site together with some evidence suggesting 19th century occupation prior to the construction of the demolished 20th century dwelling.
No evidence for a kiln or any activity pre-dating the 18th/19th century was observed during the course of the watching brief.
