Abstract
In 1991 trenchíng on the site of the proposed dining hall wíng at St Cross College in St Giles, Oxford, exposed the foundations of Oxford's first Friends Meering Howe built ín 1687, and, showed how it had been fitted into
the rear area of properties with evidence of medieval cultivation and pits.
