Abstract
In May 2002 OA carried out an archaeological watching brief at 1 St. Giles, Oxford during geotechnical test pit excavations. Modern made ground layers were consistently observed in all three pits together with evidence for the construction of the modern buildings here. In the one pit where natural gravel was seen, no archaeological features were observed.
