Abstract
OA undertook a field evaluation in August 2000 of Green Park areas 9 & 10, South-West of Small Mead Farm, Berkshire. Previous low level test pit and trial trench evaluation work across the site by the Trust for Wessex Archaeology in 1986 identified Bronze Age and Roman finds scatters associated with probable field boundaries and settlement.
A current trial trench evaluation provided further information as to the level of this activity and the quality of preservation of the archaeological remains. Which included a number of ditch alignments, isolated pits and post-holes. The finds recovered were limited in quantity and quality. Most significant were sherds of middle Bronze Age Deverel-Rimbury type Bucket Urn from a ditch in Trench 12.
