Abstract
Between January and March 2006 OA carried out a field evaluation at Peacock Farm, Bracknell, Berkshire. A total of 358 30m trial trenches were excavated across the 116 hectare development site. This report details the results of the southern part of the site, Phases 2, 3 and 4. Phase 1A, 1B and the Commercial area are the subject of a separate report.
The evaluation of the southern area consisted of 212 trial trenches. Although over three quarters of the trenches contained no or undated archaeological features, the evaluation identified small areas of potentially significant archaeological remains. An area of late Iron Age and early Roman settlement activity was observed in Phases 2 and 3.
