Abstract
In June 2003 OA carried out a field evaluation at land adjacent to Park Rise and Laburnum Close, Ambrosden, Oxfordshire. The evaluation revealed a section of a brick built tunnel well preserved beneath a thick layer of modern made ground. The tunnel was 3.5m wide and thought to be 2.5m high and was probably constructed in or shortly after 1740. It is thought that the tunnel linked the basements and offices of Ambrosden Hall to the church of St Mary the Virgin. No other features or deposits of archaeological significance were discovered.
