Abstract
An archaeological evaluation on land at the rear of the Eagle, in Bampton, Oxon, demonstrated the presence of late Saxon and early Medieval deposits and features, principally a series of ditches, one of which was up to the Minster precinct, known to have occupied land around St Mary's Church to the north.
