Abstract
An archaeological assessment was carried out for Caversham Bridge Group by the Oxford Archaeological Unit on approximately 18 ha of land at Hartley Court Farm, Great Lea, Shinfield parish, near Reading, in advance of proposed development. It was conducted in accordance with the specification set by the Planning Department of Berkshire County Council. The work was carried out between November 20 and December 7 1990. At the time, the land was under pressure.
