Abstract

The OAU was commissioned to undertake an archaeological evaluation on the site of Ankerwycke Priory, Wraysbury, Berkshire. The County Archaeological Officer stipulated that the project should consist of three main elements: documentary research into the post-Dissolution history of the site; an auger survey of the N-S linear earthwork, the fishponds, and the channel on the E side of the island; and trial excavations of the channel and fishpond banks. This report presents and analyses the results of the project.
