Abstract
In June 1991 the OAU undertook an archaeological evaluation commissioned by Chapman Warren, Town Planning and Development Consultants. The site evaluated was an area of about 27 hectares around Cowfield Farm in the parish of Ashchurch, NE of Tewkesbury. At present the area south of Cowfield Farm is arable and the fields north of Cowfield Farm are pasture. The site lies at about 16 m OD and slopes gently away to the north and south. To the west it slopes more steeply down to the alluvial floodplain of the Carrant Brook.
