Abstract
Archaeological investigation of the NE corner of St. Benet's church prior to the commencement of building work in 1988. 3 articulated skeletons possibly Medieval in date were found, along with pottery from the 17th, 18th and 19th century. Additionally a medieval grave-slab was discovered. This is made of Barnack stone with the decoration suggesting a date of mid 12th to 13th century.
