Abstract
An archaeological assessment and historical report on the Market Place, Wisbech, prior to redevelopment and pedestrianisation of the site and its environs. The aim of the investigation was to establish the presence, nature, age and state of preservation of archaeology 0.35-0.40m below the modern tarmac disturbance, with some trial sondages to establish the depth of archaeological stratification on the site. Findings were Post-Medieval in date and often disturbed. No further archaeological work required.
