Abstract
Between 14th and 16th December 2010, Oxford Archaeology East carried out an
archaeological evaluation at Pinelands Industrial Estate, Horsford, Norfolk. This
work followed on from a desk-based assessment undertaken by OA East in July
2010. A total of 465m of linear trenches was excavated. No archaeological features
or finds were recovered from any of the trenches, or during a metal detector survey
of the site. This was in spite of the proximity of the study area to the known barrow
cemetery in Horsford Woods. However, two modern pits and several cultivation
trenches were noted. Tree root disturbance was related to the previous use of the
site as a pine plantation.
