Abstract
The site covers an area of c. 55 hectares, situated on the 1st gravel terrace on the N bank of the river Thames. An application to extract gravel was submitted by Greenham Construction Materials Ltd, and following the recommendations of a public enquiry they commissioned the OAU to carry out an archaeological field evaluation, which took place in August and September 1991.
