Abstract
On May 16th 2005 Oxford Archaeology (OA) carried out a field evaluation at Courtyard Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire (NGR: SP 20136 54578) on behalf of The Royal Shakespeare Company. The evaluation revealed modern made ground directly overlying river terrace deposits. No significant archaeological features or deposits were observed. A subsequent watching brief on the foundation trenches for the new building revealed no features or finds.
