Abstract
In August 2019 Oxford Archaeology was commissioned by RPS Consulting Ltd
to evaluate a site at Spon Lane, Grendon, Warwickshire. The evaluation
consisted of 29 trenches, representing a 4% sample of the development area.
Two post-medieval field boundary ditches and a large quarry pit were revealed
and sampled, and a large undated ditch was uncovered in Trenches 12, 11 and
21, with the only find being burnt lumps of coal. Based on these results the
archaeological potential of the site is considered to be low.
