Abstract
Oxford Archaeology were commissioned by Wright and Wright Architects on
behalf of Corpus Christi College to undertake archaeological monitoring of the
excavation of three test‐pits designed to investigate college wall foundations.
The archaeological monitoring works recorded a former stone road surface
potentially of 14th‐century date, and an overlying refuse deposit, as well as
deposits backfilling the construction trenches of the walls.
The monitoring works were conducted over the course of three visits in
January and February 2020.
