Abstract
On the 17th December 2018 four scrapes of the sides of Fleam Dyke were undertaken to remove the topsoil and any vegetation with the aim of being able to regenerate the chalk grassland habitat, by monitoring what species naturally recolonise these test areas.
The removal of the topsoil enabled the original soil horizon in three of four locations and several construction layers to be seen in scrape 4. These have previously been well documented and their location planned with GPS.
