Abstract

Carrock Fell Mine is within Caldbeck and Uldale Common, which will be part of a Higher Level Stewardship (HLS) plan and as part of the agreement a survey and management plan is required which will be funded through an existing environmentally Sensitive Area (ESA) agreement. The purpose of the survey is to provide detailed information, sufficient to inform the development of the conservation plan. The Carrock Fell Mine is a Scheduled Monument (34957). It is intended that the plan provides the basis for a future programme of conservation works and site management, which will be undertaken with further agri-environment funding.
