Abstract
An archaeological assessment was undertaken in February 2001 of the area surrounding
Uplands Farm, Northwich, Cheshire (centred at NGR SJ 6543 7541) by Lancaster
University Archaeological Unit (LUAU), on behalf of the Environment Partnership. The
assessment comprised a desk-based assessment and a surface inspection of the site ahead of
proposed woodland development plans.
The desk-based study involved a search of records held by the Cheshire Sites and
Monuments Record, the Cheshire County Record Office in Chester, the Salt Museum in
Northwich, Barnton and Northwich Libraries and examined both published and unpublished
records.
