Abstract
A watching brief during construcîion work on the site of new housing in Blackthorn, Oxon, observed deposits confirming that the demolished 'Regina Cottage' wos not built upon earlier foundatíons and that the site in general had not been developed until the post-medieval period, a conclusion also arrived at in the archaeological evaluation undertaken in 1994.
