Abstract

An archaeological assessment has been undertaken by the Lancaster University
Archaeological Unit (LUAU), on behalf of The Commission for the New Towns, in
accordance with the Project design produced by LUAU (Appendix 1), of a designated
study area at the Emnie Lane Employment Area, Leyland. The assessment included a
desk-top survey and a Level 1a survey (LUAU 1993) to identify surface archaeological
remains and to establish the potential for sub-surface archaeological remains.
