Abstract

An archaeological assessment survey was undertaken, in March 2000, of areas of forestry at
Miterdale (comprising Miterdale Forest and Miterdale Head, and Giggle Alley, Cumbria by
Lancaster University Archaeological Unit (LUAU), on behalf of The Lake District National
Park Authority (LDNPA) and Forest Enterprise. This involved a documentary study and
was followed by an identification survey, which was intended to identify the visible
archaeological resource within the study areas.
