Abstract
A programme of evaluation work was undertaken by Lancaster University Archaeological
Unit (LUAU) at Ash Grove Cottage, Nether Kellet, Lancashire (NGR SD 50756838), in
advance of the proposed domestic conversion of the standing buildings and the
construction of new domestic buildings. The work comprised two elements: a level 1
photographic survey of the existing farmhouse and barn in December 1998, and the
excavation of an evaluation trench on the site of a new building in the south-western corner
of the development area in December 1999.
