Abstract

Timbers recovered from Trench 117 (2004), the works at northeast
corner of the Old Dock (2004), Trench 135 (Jan 2005) and
Site 16i (July-Aug 2006) are now stored within the area that is
referred to as Site 17, where Williamson’s grave is located. The
site is in use as a lay down area and a car park, off Paradise
Street, south of the new bus station (LA6a). The majority of the
timbers were moved from the rear of the GWR Museums building
in Liverpool using mechanical means on 4th September 2006.
During the transfer of the timbers they were checked to
determine their current state and condition.
