Abstract
This manuscript is intended as a supplement to LUAUs report dated March 1993, Grassington
Moor Lead Smelting Mill, North Yorkshire: Archaeological Survey.
The work reported was carried out for the Yorkshire Dales National Park in fulfilment of their
brief dated 22 March 1994. The product contains the following elements:
1:50 plan of flue junction 72
1:20 annotated elevations of flue junctions 56 and 72
1:20 Smelter complex elevations for faces 31-44.

Survey was undertaken in Summer 1994. Context-based analysis was made of the Smelter
complex elevations (see appendix 3 for context summaries), resulting in an assessment of
structural phasing (see appendix 4). The results are summarised below.
