Abstract
The Oxford Archaeological unit carried out an archaeological field evaluation of a proposed development site on land at Rugeley Quarry, Cannock Chase, Staffordshire in July 2001. The work was undertaken for SLR Consulting, acting on behalf of RMC Aggregates Western (Ltd). The evaluation trenches revealed only one archaeological feature, on an undated ditch located in the south-eastern part of the site. Made ground deposits were recorded at one point in the south-west part of the northern development area. No finds were retrieved from any of the trenches.
