Abstract
All 26 of the proposed trenches were excavated, with only three trenches needing to be repositioned or realigned due to a monitoring well, standing water and existing hedgerows: Trenches 18; 21; and 22. The features uncovered in the trenches all corresponded fairly well with the geophysical
data and historic mapping. The majority of features comprised either field drains or post-medieval field boundary ditches, with the exception of the features in Trenches 6, 16 and 22 where insufficient dating evidence prevents further interpretation; however, these features did appear to be relatively modern in date, due to similarities in their fills to the other post-medieval
features.
