On the 22nd April 2008, Oxford Archaeology (OA) carried out a field evaluation at 23-25 High Street, Marlow, Buckinghamshire (NGR: SU 849 865) on behalf of Comland Commercial PLC. The evaluation revealed layers of post-medieval occupation deposits cut by a chalk block lined feature. This is a probable well, or possibly a cess pit, which had been reused as a rubbish pit in the 19th/20th-centuries. No evidence for any earlier periods, including any possible structures was observed.
