Abstract

As part of the 'Building Schools for the Future' project, proposals are to be submitted to redevelop The Oswaldtwistle School. The existing school was formally the Central Technical School, opened in 1911 on the site of Treacle Row. Bovis Lend Lease commissioned OA North to undertake a desk-based assessment to identify the known archaeological resource in order to inform the planning process, and consider whether there is a requirement for any further archaeological work.
