Abstract
Report & archive
On 9th of January 2007 OASouth carried out a watching brief at Castle Hill, Little Wittenham, Oxon (SU 565 927). The work was commissioned by the Northmoor Trust in advance of the excavation of 45 tree planting slots within the area of the Scheduled Monuemnt. The watching brief revealed that all the slots were wholly contained within the exisiting layer of topsoil and tree mould and no underlying deposits were exposed. No significant archaeology was encountered.
