Abstract
Between 26th and 27th of March 2018, Oxford Archaeology East (OA East)conducted an archaeological evaluation at land to the east of no 37 and to the rear of 27-37 Romsey Terrace, Cambridge (centred TL 4682 5747, Fig. 1). A single evaluation trench was excavated.
The evaluation uncovered a number of modern features cut into made ground overlying the natural geology including two post holes and two ditches. A possible pit and a tree throw were revealed beneath the made ground. These features all contained finds dated to post-medieval and modern periods. The north-western half of the Trench was contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons.
