Abstract
Oxford Archaeology North (OA North) was invited in 2008 by Natural England to undertake a
programme of archaeological landscape survey of elements of Skipwith Common (NGR SE
6571 3728 (approximate centre)), on behalf of Escrick Park Estate and Natural England. The
surveys, which were undertaken on several seasons between 2008 and 2018, were intended to
inform the conservation management of the common. The project has comprised a documentary
study, an archaeological study of the airfield, a landscape survey of the remaining part of
Skipwith Common and a detailed survey of a multiple boundary bank system. This report
represents the fourth phase of recording, comprising discussion of LiDAR and photogrammetric
survey, undertaken in 2018, the results of which compliment those of previous investigations.
