Capitol Centre, Walton-le-Dale, Lancashire Archaeological Desk-Based Assessment

The desk-based assessment comprised a search of both published and unpublished records held by the Lancashire Historic Environment Record (HER) and the Lancashire County Record Office in Preston, the Harris Museum, Art Gallery and Library, and the archives and library held at OA North in Lancaster. In addition, a rapid site inspection was carried out on the site of the proposed development, in order to relate the landscape and surroundings to the results of the desk-based assessment. This report sets out the results of the desk-based assessment along with a gazetteer of sites.
