Abstract
Between May and August 2005 Oxford Archaeology (OA) carried out an archaeological watching brief at Broadmead, Bristol (NGR ST 596735). The work was commissioned by the Bristol Alliance in advance of excavation of cable trenches for the Telecoms Trench Share Scheme. The watching brief revealed evidence of extensive deposits of post-medieval made ground and demolition layers together with evidence of the construction of the River Frome culvert. A medieval or early post-medieval structure was also exposed.
