Abstract
Between the 1st and the 5th of December 2014 Oxford Archaeology East carried out an archaeological test pit evaluation at Wimpole Park, Cambridgeshire. The work was carried out on behalf of the National Trust following a scheme agreed with English Heritage. A total of 162 test pits were dug in advance of tree planting to restore the historic parkland of the formal gardens. Of these 26 were deemed to be in archaeologically sensitive areas (a Scheduled Monument).
Evidence of building platforms, and a 19th century brick built culvert were found within the test pits.
