Abstract
On the 20th and 21st of September 2004 Oxford Archaeology (OA) carried out a field evaluation at the Chequers Public House, Fingest, Buckinghamshire (NGR: SU 770 9109) on behalf of W.H. Brakspear and Sons PLC. The evaluation revealed extensive colluvial deposits and garden soils, however post-medieval activity had truncated any potential archaeological deposits adjacent to the building itself.
