Abstract

The corner of a substantial block of masonry was revealed in the course of reconstruction work in a cellar at 36 Cornamrket street. No archaeological implications had been anticipated on the site so no provision was made ofr archaeological works. Oxford Archaeology were called in when the masonry was discovered to carry out a rapid watching brief observation.
