Abstract
In 1992 a watching brief was carried out by Cambridgeshire Archaeology in advance of the new Anglian Water Swaffham Bulbeck-Bottisham main. Three areas were selected for close observation on account of their proximity to known archaeological monuments, and cleaned down to the top of the subsoil. Two were without archaeological features, but west of St Ives Wood is a ditch that was located and excavated. It seems probable that this was a water channel related to the water management system of the deserted medieval village in Bottisham Park.
