Abstract

An archaeological assessment was undertaken in May 2001 of an area to the south of Braystones,
near Beckermet, Cumbria (NGR NY 0066 0605) by Lancaster University Archaeological Unit
(LUAU), on behalf of United Utilities plc in advance of the construction of a proposed waste
water treatment works and an associated outfall pipe. The assessment comprised a desk-based
assessment of an area within a 500m corridor between Lantern Moss Tarn and the coast.
