Abstract
In December 1998, an archaeological field evaluation was undertaken by Lancaster
University Archaeological Unit to investigate an enclosure to the south-east of Stewart Shiels
Farm, Otterburn, Northumberland, in advance of a proposed cow house development.
The evaluation was commissioned by Turner Facilities Management, acting on behalf of the
MOD. The work was requested by Northumberland National Park Authority, and was to
accord with a brief prepared by The Archaeological Practice.
