Abstract

Between 10th and 12th January 2011, Oxford archaeology East carried out an archaeological evaluation at Walnut Farm Landbeach. This was in advance of the construction of new housing. The evaluation revealed a number of later post medieval and modern features associated with the site's current use as a farmyard. An undated ditch and pit were also recoded, along with a natural hollow containing two sherd of Roman pottery. No significant remains relating to the large Iron Age and Roman settlement known to be at Limes Farm, just to the north-east of the site, were identified.
