Abstract

OA carried out an archaeological field evaluation at Oxford Station. The area covered by the site includes Rewley Abbey, a scheduled ancient monument (OXON 80). A total of 23 trenches were excavated, other trenches were north of the known moated Abbey complex. The evaluation showed pre-Abbey activity in the area, particularly west of the Abbey complex where an Abbey-phase, probable agricultural structure, was found.
